Every token on Solana has a mint authority: the account that is allowed to create new tokens. While it exists, the supply is not fixed.
Why people revoke it
Revoking the mint authority permanently fixes the supply. Buyers often look for this because it removes the risk of surprise inflation.
Why you might keep it
Some projects need to mint over time (rewards, emissions). If you keep it, tell your community how it will be used.

Freeze authority
The freeze authority can freeze token accounts. For most community tokens it is safest to revoke it.
